The palace of Knossos (5 km from Heraklion), capital of the Minoan civilization, seat of king Minos and the labyrinth where the minotaurus was held, was the first Minoan palace discovered and the only one rebuilt by the English archaeologist Sir Arthur EVANS. It goes back to approximately 2000 years BC,a period during which Minoan civilization was at its peak. Towards 1450 BC, the eruption of the volcano of Santorini or a Mycenian invasion, destroyed the greatest part of the luxurious palace.

The evening will take place about fifteen kilometers southwest of Heraklion in a typical setting, in Arolithos, which is a reconstruction of a small Cretan village clustered in the mountain. Before passing to table for a traditional dinner show, take time for a stroll in the lanes and shops of this hamlet, to look at the craftsmen working, and to know the local products. A welcome aperitif will be enjoyed on the terrace on top of the village. The traditional music invites you to the Cretan meal. A group of dancers and musicians animates the evening, a show, with Cretan and Greek songs and dances. In a convivial environment, the wine runs abundantly. It is the festival of the village.......

The MONASTERY OF ARKADI
23 km in the southeast of Rethymnon, the monastery of Arkadi dominates a very green region. With its enclosing walls of 1,20m thickness and the various buildings around, it makes you think of a fortress. It contains the cells of the monks linked by galleries with the court. One will also notice the old people's home which has been restored, the refectory and the explosives magazine. A small museum contains many relics and icons.

TOWN OF RETHYMNON
Main town of the district, this town of 20 000 inhabitants is located at equal distance between Heraklion with 60 km at the east, and Chania 60 km in the west. It has an organized center with many tradespeople, a place both oldfashioned and modern, cultural and enlightening. The town has a beautiful sea front, splendid beaches, a fantastic preserved local colour, picturesque lanes which make Rethymnon a true centre of attraction.

CHANIA
The magic of Chania, does not reside only in its Venetian minarets, its palaces or its torturous lanes. This city is a meeting point of extremes and contradictions. With 60.000 inhabitants it is the largest but also most important of the agglomerations of Western Crete. Chania preserves an atmosphere of another time and its many reminiscences of the past give this city a particular seal. One can still see Venetian, Turkish, and Jewish districts and well preserved old buildings while the modern city, which increases continuously, is built with streets, parks and elegant buildings. Along the port, the taverns, ouzeries, pastry shops and pubs are reflected in water. The old city will allure you as it allured more than one visitor. The cave of Dicteon Andron is located at an altitude of 1025m where many legends have been evoked in connection with this mysterious place.... The archaeological findings make it possible to affirm that it was a place of worship for the Minoans in ancient times. One has discovered a furnace bridge, tables for offerings, various objects such as idols, weapons, double axes, terracotta, vases, seals and invaluable stones.

Black sand, white houses, indigo coloured sea, grey, ochre, green countryside, petrified lava, no other island can be compared with this, the wild and natural beauty of Santorini. The history of this island is the history of a volcano, the eruption which took place at 1450 B.C ., caused the immersion of three quarters of the island. This catastrophe, as well as the vestiges of a developed civilization, makes many people believe that Santorini is the famous Atlantis. The panoramic sight of Fira, situated at the top of the red rocks is unforgettable..

Excursion towards the South of the island while passing by first of all the majestic Minoan palace of Phaistos, situated about sixty kilometers in the South-west of Heraklion. It is the second great archaeological site after Knossos. View of the plain of Messara and the Ida mountain. Continuing towards the ruins of the Greco-Roman city of Gortys; this city is one of oldest of Crete, one discovers that there are very interesting monuments such as the Acropolis and the stairs of an ancient theatre. Further on the excursion reaches Matala. Formerly it was a small hamlet of fishermen; today, it is a modern tourist centre The site owes its fame to the artificial caves dug in cliff. It is in this charming village at the edge of the Libyan sea that lunch will take place, continued =by a walk on the cliffs and in the caves. Spare time for shopping or a swim.

The purpose of this rally is to make you discover unknown parts of Crete. It is not in any case a speed test. There will be no no claims bonus for the one first arriving. Thessaloniki and/or Chalkidiki

Athos peninsula rising from the clear blue-green waters to 2,033 meters at its peak is shrouded in the mysteries if time. It was founded in 885 and given to the Church by Basil the 1st, but it was 80 years later, before the monastery was built. Approximately 100 years later it was decreed that no “smooth face” i. e. female could set foot on the holy ground, this law still being in force nowadays.
But ladies, you can still enjoy the beauty and sensation during one of the most exciting days of your holiday by taking a cruise around the coast of Athos; you can witness the landscape that has hardly changed from the beginning of time. We cruise aboard a first class boat with all comforts.

This superb tour of Thessaloniki is an excellent way to get to know the city, with one of our professional guides leading the way.
Included are some of the most memorable and important sights, such as the White Tower, the city’s important landmark. We’ll explore the exhibition grounds, the Arch of Galerius, the Rotonda, the Citadel and many more important sites and monuments. We will stop at the city walls, from where you have a marvellous view of Thessaloniki. We will also visit St Dimitrios Byzantine Church, and we will take a walk along one of the most famous seaside promenades in the country, lined with many coffee bars and restaurants.

A highlight of your stay in Greece will be a visit to the Meteora monasteries. Meteora is the geological miracle, which must be seen to be believed! Six monasteries are preserved; four of them are still inhabited. Important notice: for entering the monasteries appropriate clothing is required. Ladies must not wear short skirts and garments have long sleeves. Men are not allowed to wear shorts.

We will visit Dion and its archaeological site. Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece with 2,919 meters and noted for its very rich flora with several endemic species. In the Greek mythology, Mount Olympus is symbolic the home of the Twelve Olympians, the principal gods in the Greek Pantheon. The Greeks thought of it as built with crystal mansions the dwelling of the gods.
